Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) biostimulator — not a traditional filler. Instead of adding volume directly, Sculptra triggers your skin to produce its own new collagen over the months following treatment. The result is a gradual, natural-looking restoration of facial volume, improved skin quality, and a lifted appearance that can last up to two years. It is ideal for patients who want subtle, undetectable rejuvenation rather than the immediate change of hyaluronic acid filler.
Sculptra is FDA-approved for the correction of shallow-to-deep nasolabial folds, chin wrinkles, and other facial wrinkles, and is widely used off-label for full-face volumization and skin-quality improvement. A typical treatment series is 2–3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, with results building gradually as new collagen develops. Because Sculptra is a biostimulator rather than a hyaluronic-acid filler, it cannot be dissolved — patient selection and conservative dosing matter, which is why we plan each series carefully. Post-treatment, patients are asked to massage the area (the "5-5-5 rule": 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days) to ensure even distribution. Contraindications include active skin infection at the injection site, known hypersensitivity to any component, keloid scarring tendency, and pregnancy or breastfeeding.
