Methylene blue is one of the oldest pharmaceuticals in existence — and one of the most compelling emerging tools in longevity and cognitive medicine. It acts as a powerful mitochondrial electron carrier, improving cellular energy production (ATP) and protecting neurons from oxidative stress. Administered via IV at therapeutic doses, methylene blue offers rapid cognitive enhancement, neuroprotection, and anti-aging effects at the mitochondrial level.
Methylene blue is administered as a slow IV infusion at sub-therapeutic doses (0.5–4 mg/kg). The characteristic blue coloration of urine during treatment is expected and harmless. Our clinical team titrates dosing carefully based on individual response. Methylene blue has well-established safety data at therapeutic doses and a long history of FDA-approved medical use. Important contraindications: G6PD deficiency (absolute), serotonin syndrome risk when combined with SSRIs/SNRIs or MAOIs — a full medication review is conducted before every treatment. Methylene blue is not currently available for patients on serotonergic medications.
